The Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Cell of K.L.B.D.A.V. College for Girls, Palampur organized an Interaction and Career Guidance Session on the topic “Career Opportunities for Women in the Armed Forces and Police Services” on 14 July 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Harikrishan Hall for the final-year students of B.A., B.Com., BBA, and BCA.
The resource person for the session was an Assistant Recruiting Officer, Indian Army. He provided valuable guidance on the various career opportunities available for young women in the Indian Army. He explained the different recruitment pathways, with special emphasis on Agniveer recruitment and the opportunities available through the National Cadet Corps (NCC). He also discussed the eligibility criteria, selection process, physical and medical standards, written examinations, and the importance of discipline, fitness, leadership, and dedication in pursuing a career in the Armed Forces.
He motivated the students to consider the Armed Forces as a prestigious and rewarding career option. He encouraged them to prepare systematically and make use of NCC training to enhance their chances of selection. The interactive session concluded with a question-and-answer segment, where students enthusiastically sought clarification regarding recruitment procedures, training, career growth, and life in the Armed Forces.
The programme was highly informative and inspiring. The students actively participated and appreciated the practical guidance provided by the resource person. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resources person for sharing his expertise and motivating the students to serve the nation with pride and commitment.
