K.L.B. D.A.V. College of Education for Girls Palampur was established in 2005. B.Ed professional course was introduced w.e.f. academic session 2005-06 and from the academic session  2015-16 D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) have been started. Our main aim to provide quality teaching across all academic areas, We encourage each student to search for knowledge and understanding, we develop deep thinkers with creative minds and responsible attitudes. Our training of teachers enables them to stay relevant in the dynamics and acquire the future through our rigorous training we are developing versatile personalities to be used in every sphere of school.

    COLLEGE LIBRARY

    In order to cater to the academic demands of the students, the college has rich haul of books in the library. There are books pertaining to the syllabi, reference books and general interest books. The college subscribes to various magazines & Delnet facility is also available in the library, e-journals and leading newspapers. A qualified librarian supervises the library activities and issues books to the students under college rules.

    LABS

    The college has independent laboratories for all disciplines. It has a ICT resource centre, curriculam lab, Arts & Craft resource centre, Health and Physical Education resource centre etc.

    Other Facilities

    • College has its own canteen which serves tea, snacks and lunch to the students and staff of the college. The rates and quality of the products are inspected from time to time.
    • College provides excellent facilities for sports activities and training. A sports department is headed by a qualified lecturer in Physical Education.

    Hostel Facility

    Hostel facility is available within the college premises. Hostel charges for the session 2022-2024 will be as follow:

    HOSTEL

     Nominal hostel facilities are available in the college campus.

    Detail of Hostel Dues:

    I Mess Charges (per annum) in two installments Rs. 28,000.00
    Hostel Rent including electricity and water charges etc. (per annum) Rs.24,000.00
    Total Rs.  52,000.00
    Hostel Fee to be paid in two installments :-
    First Installment to be paid in June During Admission Rs. 32,000.00
    Second installment to be paid in1st Nov. to 15th Nov. Rs. 20,000.00
    • After the respective due dates fine @ Rs. 100/- per day will be charged & defaulters will not be allowed to appear in the examination before the clearance of outstanding dues & fine.
    • Balance of all dues including HOSTEL charges must be cleared before 15th March every year
    • No concession towards annual hostel dues will be given to any hosteller leaving the hostel during mid session for industrial training or any other purpose.
    • Managing Committee has the right to revise the Hostel dues at any time which will be applicable to all (fresh/old) hostelers.

    College Magazines

    In order to give expression to the creative urge of the students, the college publishes an annual process. Student editors are guided by the able and exprienced staff editorial board magazine titled “Kunj Vatika” The studentss editorial board.

    Sessional & Socially Productive Work

    1. College provides excellent opportunities and facilities to the trainees in the field, le Educational Handwork, Physical Education, Morning Assembly and Library work. These activities are conducted through able teachers. These activities constitute an important constituents of training curriculum. All these activities are compulsory.

    Examination

    In order to asess students’ performance, House examinations are conducted time to time. And Our students have proved them consistently on the academic front under the expert guidance of our highly qualified and dedicated faculty.

    Identity Card

    Every trainee will be issued an identity card and will wear the card all the time while on campus.

    Re-admission/Withdrawal

    1. Name of the candidates will be struck-off from college rolls if a student fails to maintain regularity in attendance, i.e. continuous absence for six days or an act of indiscipline.
    2. Candidate can seek re-admission within ten days from the date on which her name was struck- off, after satisfying authorities and paying the due charges.
    3. Candidates can seek re-admission once.
    4. Candidates desirous of leaving the course will have to declare their intention in writing along with the consent of parents/guardians.
    5. Withdrawal is allowed only if the candidate has paid all dues.

    Leave Rules

    1. Student can proceed on leave with prior permission. For this, they should fill in the leave forms to be supplied to the student @ Rs. 10 per booklet at the time of admission.
    2. A tutor can recommend leave upto 2 days, for longer duration, students must get the application signed by the senior tutor. In case senior tutor is on leave the application should be signed by the principal.
    3. Leave during house examination/class test will be sanctioned only by the principal on the recommendation of the senior tutor.
    4. Leave for sickness must be accompanied by the medical certificate.
    5. In the case of continues absence of 6 days from the class the name will be struck off.

    Fine

    1. Absence fine per period is Rs. 5/- and whole day Rs. 10/-
    2. Library fine Rs. 10/- per day per book
    3. Absence fine from micro teaching or other sessional work is Rs. 50/- per day.
    4. Absence from House Test is Rs. 100/- per paper
    5. Re-admission fee Rs. 3000/-

    P.T.A.

    For better co-ordination & interaction between parents & teachers for improvement of academic standards and infra- structural facilities in the college, Parents Teacher Association (P.T.A) has been constituted in the college. Time to time meetings of P.T.A are arranged and suggestions of the parents for the improvement of educational standards and conduct of the students are incorporated. Parents are also informed about the performance of their wards in these meetings of P.T.A. rach student will contribute Rs. 200/- for P.T.A. fund.

    Old Students Association

    OSA has been formed in the college to foster fellowship and friendship amongst the old students of this college and to co-operate with the college administration for the betterment of the Institution. Old Students Association (OSA) serves as a link between the past & present so as to give healthy directions to coming students. There is a provision of two types of membership:

    Environment Club

    For the beautification of the campus, environments club has been formed in the college Each student contributes Rs. 20/-, whereas each staff member contributes Rs. 50/- towards this club in one academic year.

    Rules of Teaching Practices

    1. Block teaching is compulsory for the students.
    2. Every student will have to attend school Internship programme for 1 month and teaching practice programme for four months compulsory.
    3. Only two lessons can be taught in a day.
    4. Lesson plan must be approved by subject teacher.
    5. No Pupil teacher is allowed to punish her student in class or outside.

    Tutorial Group

    Every student is assigned a tutorial group which consists of 32 to 35 students. Each group is guided by a member of the faculty to whom they are assigned. The students have to seek advise of their tutor for all problems. They have to get identity card signed by the concerned tutor.

    Dress Code

    Immediately on joining the college, the students will be given the sample of the Dress to be prepared within 15 days.
    The uniform is compulsory on all the working days. The fine Rs. 10/- will be charged without uniform on working day.
