On July 25, 2025, a plantation drive was organized at KLB DAV Girls College, Palampur, to mark the commencement of the new academic session and to celebrate the birthday of Shri Brij Bihari Lal Butail, the Chairman of the College Management Committee.
The plantation drive on the occasion of his birthday was an important and positive initiative. The main objective of this event was to promote environmental conservation and increase greenery, raising awareness among the students. Shri Brij Bihari Lal Butail emphasized the responsibility of students to remain sensitive towards the environment. He suggested that every student should plant at least one tree to help combat global warming.
NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, Director Dr. Rajinder Singh Rana, the entire staff, and students of the college welcomed the guests with floral tributes and flower showers. A cake was cut on the college premises, and sweets were distributed. Everyone prayed for the long life and good health of Shri Butail Ji.
On this occasion, shade trees, fruit-bearing, and flowering plants were planted. The college director mentioned that environmental conservation is everyone’s responsibility, and such events help students understand the importance of nature.
On the auspicious occasion of the birthday, the College Management Committee Secretary Rajendra Singh Thakur, Mayor Gopal Nag, Radha Sood, Dr. Ranjodh Thakur, Arun Thakur, Reverend Virender Pal Singh (Principal, St. Paul’s College), V. K. Yadav (Principal, DAV School), Dr. Sanjeev Thakur (DFO Palampur), as well as other dignitaries, the college Vice-Principal Champa Saini, Principal of the Management and Technical Department Dr. Manju Kaushal, the entire staff, and students were present.
